Tanks

When you store a corrosive chemical, your needs are very specific. The materials for your tanks must be chosen to match the corrosion resistance with the service conditions. With Dual Laminate tanks, the inner liner can be manufactured from a variety of corrosion resistant thermoplastics (see the Dual Laminates for examples), with one sure to match your exact requirements. And what is even better, a dual laminate tank can match the corrosion resistance of the high end alloys such as Titanium and Hastelloy at a fraction of the cost.

Through the unique dual laminate process, the corrosion resistant thermoplastic liner is bonded to the structural strength of a fiberglass reinforced plastic shell. Our experienced engineers will custom design the liner and the shell to meet your exact requirements, taking into consideration the chemical to be stored (density, corrosion properties, vapor pressures), and the environmental conditions unique to your site, such as wind load, snow load, seismic zone, temperature ranges. They will then design a tank that meets your precise needs.

Most tanks are much more than just a shell with a few nozzles. Our team can custom design and construct your tank for your process. Need agitation? An agitator bridge can be added, and baffles if needed. Need a header? We can fabricate and install your header to stand up to your chemical environment. Or do you need jet agitation? We can custom design and construct the jet header and nozzles with the same liner to assure the same long life. Need multiple feed points or draw off points? Nozzles can be placed in the exact locations to correspond to your piping configuration. We can even design and construct your external piping header to match the corrosion resistance properties of your tank. Sight glasses, level probes, heat tracing, vents, odor control systems, dip pipe guides, ladders, hand rails, pipe clips, whatever you need, we can fabricate it to meet your process requirements.

If your process requires a rectangular tank, or one combining shapes, that too is no problem for B&D Plastics. We will custom design a mold to meet your requirements. Are your needs too large to allow shop fabrication due to transportation restrictions? Again, that is no problem. Our expert field team can set up on your site and construct your tank in place, up to 119 feet inner diameter.

All tanks are fabricated to meet ASME RTP-1 standards, and B&D will supply all standard RTP-1 based forms to you, our customer. This fall, we will complete the accreditation process with RTP-1 and will be happy to supply you with a copy of the Certificate of Authorization as well.
